Scholarships

Stylus College now offers scholarships! Receive up to $4000 towards your tuition! We believe that people who are talented and passionate about their career option in the Music and Visual Media Industries should not have the high cost of tuition hold them back. Through our competition process, we will reward the applicants in three levels:

First Level (The highest): $4000
Second Level: $2500
Third Level: $1500

October 17, 2008

Qualifications:

Any applicant to Stylus College who have paid their application fee can compete for our scholarships. Our testing will be graded on percentage with the following qualifications:

Solid background in music related works: 15%
This includes students who love music, play instruments, are in a band, are managing a band, promotion, recording knowledge, music theory, and any engineering for live production.

Essay and Portfolio: 35%
The essay must contain a detailed bio on past experiences such as level(s) of education completed, work experience, and/or music related experience (recording, engineering, producing, performing, etc.) Please place emphasis on why you would like to attend Stylus College and what your goals are once you have graduated from your program of choice.

The portfolio contains previous recorded material that is performed, produced, or engineered by the applicant. The recorded material can be submitted in audio CD or data CD/DVD format.

The essay and portfolio can be dropped off, emailed, mailed to Stylus College.

Rehearsal, Written Test and Interview: 50%
We will ask you to perform for us either solo or with a band. A written test will be also issued to the applicants. Finally, the interview will help you follow up your essay and express anything you may have missed in your portfolio (social skills are important too!).

Standings:

First Level: minimum of 90%
Second Level: minimum of 85%
Third Level: minimum of 80%
