Courses & Subjects

Teachers encourage a high standard of courses offered through their subjects by ensuring that each course and subject has clear and appropriate aims and objectives, and that these are made known to students to help guide their course subjects; and ensuring that assessment practices and criteria reflect these aims and objectives, are communicated to students clearly, and are not amended without reference to the students affected. Teachers review the course and subject which lead to appropriate changes/implementation, including examination of failure attrition rates and of workload, in order to ascertain whether the courses and subjects offered are academically challenging and stimulating learning experiences and are fulfilling the stated educational objectives, the needs of students, and, where appropriate, of employers and the professions, and of industry.
