Program Description:

The Master of Music Production & Technology program at Stylus is one of the most in-depth career programs offered by today's music industry standards.

Students specializing in this program will learn about music theory, the creation and production of recordings of music, sound design and technology, compositional tools used for visual media, and entrepreneurial and managerial skills used in the music business. They will also learn how to successfully complete recording projects found in contemporary professional recording and production environments. The student's mastery of the discipline will be evaluated through the completion of professional recording and production projects.

Program Description:

A producer can take on several roles from songwriting to recording (engineering), mixing, mastering, and even finding and signing artists with record companies. Independent Music Producers are among some of the highest ranked professionals. In fact, the music industry demands such level of vast knowledge and expertise due to competition and abundance of technology.

Stylus College of Music & Sound Technology is the only school in Canada that offers an intensive full time one year Diploma Program to educate, develop and train students to become successful as Independent Music Producers.

There are 2 streams students of the Independent Music Producer can choose: Music Production or Audio Engineering.

Music Production: Students are required to complete are creative and technical courses in order to receive their diploma in music production.

Audio Engineering: Students are required to complete only the technical courses in order to receive their diploma in audio engineering.

Nick Hope: Independent Music Producer graduate Nick Hope is signed to record label Harte Music as music producer/songwriter.

Brant Janvier : Graduate of the Independent Music Producer program is currently the Production Co-ordinator of CFWE FM Radio which is an Alberta wide radio station.

Mathew Brown: Graduate of the Independent Music Producer program. Mathew is in the Hip Hop band called the Fire Arms Quartet.

Manj Grewal: Currently licensing his Hip Hop instrumental tracks to New York based Hip Hop artists. Manj also has his own production company called Soul Klap productions.
