Program Description:

Students of this popular program will learn the fundamentals of composing songs, designing signature sounds, and using special recording techniques to produce impressionable beats that make Hip Hop one of the most popular music genres today. The essentials of desktop studio set up and operations are covered throughout the program. The main components of Hip Hop and R&B music production are heavily emphasized through courses such as Beat Construction, DJ Training, and Sound Design & Sampling. Student projects involve recording and producing several Hip Hop tracks with the final product submitted on a CD.

I greatly enjoyed my experience as a student at Stylus. It was very enlightening and opened a great number of doors for me. After my three month period at your school I applied and was accepted as an intern for a recording studio in Bellingham, Washington. The information and knowledge I obtained during my studies at Stylus prepared me tremendously for the challenges of working in a recording studio. Not only that but it led me into the current field that I am now pursuing as I am going to be studying electrical engineering at the University of Eastern Washington.
