Stylus College provides integrated Audio Engineering Diplomas based on the Independent Music Producer (IMP) program or Sound for Film & Television (SFT) program. The college also offers an advanced Audio Engineering Diploma based on the courses offered in the second year of the Master of Music Production & Technology (MPT) program. Students can choose to do their Audio Engineering stream by speaking to an advisor after registering for either the IMP, SFT, or MPT (2nd year) program. |

INDEPENDENT MUSIC PRODUCER PROGRAM (AUDIO ENGINEERING)
PROGRAM OVERIVEW Program Length: 6 months| Certificate program Total hours: 450+ Program Description: The Audio Engineering Diploma in the IMP program is based on engineering concepts and techniques use in album production. The program is made up of 2 terms of study and students will learn about sound theory, microphone techniques, working with effects, mixing, and much more. In addition, students will be working on industry projects and assignments to make sure that they are ready to work in the music industry. |
SOUND FOR FILM & TELEVISION (AUDIO ENGINEERING)
PROGRAM OVERIVEW Program Length: 1 year | Diploma program Total hours: 750+ Program Description: The Audio Engineering Diploma in the SFT program is based on audio engineering techniques involved in the production of sound for video games and films. There is also an option for students to choose to study both paths sound for Games & Television or select just on path. Students will be exposed to sound design techniques, foley recording, sound effects creation, digital signal processing, mixing, adaptive sound, and more. Students will be working on several hands-on projects simultaneously to completely understand the production cycle of sound for games & film. |
MASTER OF MUSIC PRODUCTION & TECHNOLOGY (AUDIO ENGINEERING)
PROGRAM OVERIVEW Program Length: 1 year | Diploma program Total hours: 750+ Program Description: The advanced Audio Engineering Diploma in the MPT program covers extensive and technical concepts such as analog signal processing, building effects processors, analog & digital, DSP, surround sound mixing, mixing for film, mixing for album production, mastering, and much more. Admission to this program is based on prior audio engineering skills or academic transcripts. Prospective students required to take an entrance exam to qualify for this program. It is recommended that students enrol in the Independent Music Producer program and maintain a B+ average to successfully obtain admission. |
